IRO 2009

IRO stands for Indonesia Robotic Olympiad. During that year, 2009, it was my first time in joining a robotic competition. Because I didn't have any experience, I join the easiest category among the choices. I chose "Tug of War" category instead of programming which was much harder. Tug of War is basically about which robot is the strongest and this competition will be decided by the rope. I was sent to Jakarta with my teacher from a course named "Robokidz" and my partner named James Indrawan S. I was so grateful of getting him as my partner, because he and I could work together well. This is my first experience of going out of Surabaya without my parents too! Although I miss my parents when I was there, I still could manage myself pretty well. I stayed in Jakarta for 4 days. The first day for technical meeting, the second is the big day, the third day is for fun and the last day is the going home trip. During the first day, I was very excited. At that night, I slept pretty well since I was very tired from the trips to reach the hotel. The second day, the day that I had been waiting for since the first day of my training has come. I woke up really early that day, at 6 a.m. I directly took a shower and do my usual toiletry activities. At 7 a.m. I head to the lounge and, EAT!!! I was really hungry, so I ate lots of foods. Then, at 8.30 a.m, I went to the bus with my teachers and friends to the place which was Senayan City. Senayan City is a big mall and in fact it is one of the biggest malls in Jakarta. I was getting more excited and nervous at the same time. At 10 a.m, the competition began. It all started with the speeches that were given by the director of the competition. At 10.30, me and James and all of the other competitors there were starting to build our own robot. Since me and James were really cooperative, we finished our robot quickly without any difficulties. We finished our robot at 12 o'clock as well as the other teams. Then, we all took a break for lunch. At one o'clock, the competition continues. The pairing was out and I was very excited. Then, we entered  our first battle, and we won. The second battle was the same, the only difference was that the second one was harder, however we won. The third, was the hardest battle for us, because our opponent's robot's structure were almost the same as ours, but we still won. Then, the final battle came. We were very nervous and in just about 5 seconds, we defeat the opponent's robot down and so, we were the champion of that competition in the category of Tug of War and we were very happy about it. From 1 p.m to 8 p.m was another category competitions and we must wait until the end of it for the award ceremony. I was really tired, but I won as a gold medalist, so my it was worth it. The third day, I went to Kidzania to had fun. The next day after that, I went home with a happy news and my parents were very proud of me. Not only glory that I brought home, I also gained lots of experience too. I learned how to "survive" without my parents and I was pretty proud of myself about that.

PCC 2011

PCC stands for Petra Chess Competition. It is a chess tournament that is hosted by a school named "Petra". This tournament is the first chess tournament that I ever had. I gained lots of experience from this competition. From this competition, I learned many things including the chess' international like how to use the chess timer. For some people that didn't know this, they think that you only need to press the button after you had done your turn, however there are more rules behind it. You must press the chess timer with the same hand that you use to move your piece and others. Although I didn't win, I still thank God that I was able to join this competition that made me gained lots of experience. Now, I am looking forward to join more competitions and I will try to do my best in that competition.

My Class in the Year of the Rabbits (2011-2012)

Last year was a very fun year for me. My classmates were very kind and fun to socialize with. The PC teachers, Mr. Ronny Surya Wijaya and Ms. Esti Harin, were very helpful. They helped us solve some of our problems and they bless us every PC time.
Not only did I like the class last year, I was also proud of myself too. I got 4 awards! The Most Outstanding Award, The English Proficiency Award, The Performing Arts Award and The Perfect Attendance Award. What made me so happy was because I got The Most Outstanding Award since it was the biggest award that I could achieve in this school. Not am I the one who is proud of this, but my parents are proud as well.

My Second Experience in joining a chess competition

This open tournament of "Piala Walikota Surabaya" Chess that took place in BG Junction, had lots of competitiors. 7 of them was from my school. What shocked me in this competition was that as a junior, I must battle against adults and even adults that had "Master" as his title. Therefore, I lost when I got to fight the adults. However, there is two rounds that I got to fight with juniors the same as my age. The first junior that I fought was smart, but I prayed to God to let me win and he granted my wish. I was very thankful. The second junior was smarter. I lost, but I don't blame God for this and there were still nothing that can tore my spirit apart. I kept playing and playing and the final score is I got 5 points out of 10 which made me happy. I got the rank 153 out of 312. I was pretty proud of myself. I could beat my teacher who joins that competition too. And in the future, I am looking forward to join more chess competition again.

Here is the website that shows the result of the whole tournament :

Check Point Exam (2012)

During that year, I was very excited yet very nervous of doing this checkpoint exam. At first, I didn't want to join this exam, but my mom force me to. Then, I suddenly thought that maybe I could just do the exam well. Therefore, I tried it. The day before the exam, I was really nervous because I didn't know what will I face. During the exam, I found some difficulties in the Science and English papers, but not for the Math. After me and my friends had done the exams, we were all relieved and was very excited to see the results. The day that we were waiting for had come. My PC teacher, Ms. Widya distributed all of the results, except for mine. She said that she only received those results and that she will try to find mine. I waited and waited. At the end of the day (the last session of my school day), a teacher came to my class and said that my results had been mistakenly taken by another PC teacher and that PC teacher thought that it was his PC student's whose name was "Leonardo" too. His PC student said that it was not his, so the teacher gave it to someone else whose named was "Leonardo" too since he thought that it was that student's. Then, the student said that it was not his. The teacher was tired, so he gave it too the teacher that gave me that paper at my last school session. And she told me the whole story and told me that I got a perfect score for the Math papers. I was really proud of myself and felt that the waiting was all worthed.
